New Technology in Energy-Efficient Lighting: LED Lamps

Our home lighting choices affect the size of our bills and environmental footprints. One way to cut down on both is using energy-efficient technology.

LED lights, or light emitting diodes, are the latest green and energy-efficient lighting technology on the market. These light bulbs are more efficient at turning energy into light, generating even less excess heat than the similarly efficient CFL bulbs. The price is higher up front, but in the long run the amount you save on your energy bills will pay for the additional cost. LED lamps come in a variety of shapes, colors, and controls, providing lots of options for your home lighting designs. The best part? They last 25,000+ hours, or about 3 years on average.
